PAPER ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN IN VITRO VEGETATIVE MULTIPLICATION PROCESS OF PALM OIL USING SOMATIC EMBRYOGENESIS WITH STORAGE IN LIQUID NITROGEN OF NEW CLONES CREATED IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN THEIR GENETIC CHARACTERISTICS OVER TIME. THE DESCRIBED PROCESS HAS BEEN IMPROVED IN COLLABORATION WITH THE TEAM OF THE INSTITUT DE RECHERCHE POUR LES HUILES ET OLEAGINEUX (IRHO), THE OFFICE DE RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUE POUR LES TERRITOIRES D'OUTRE-MER (ORSTOM, FRANCE) AND THE IRHO RESEARCH STATION AT ME (IVORY COAST). AS EARLY AS IN 1987 THE PROCEDURE WAS THE SUBJECT OF TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER TO THE LABORATORIES OF THE IVORY COAST, INDONESIA AND MALAYSIA. J.R.
