FROM JANUARY 1983 TO DECEMBER 1988, 26 PATIENTS WITH HPV LESIONS UNDERWENT CRYOSURGERY AT THEDIVISION OF SURGICAL ONCOLOGY OF THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR CANCER RESEARCH OF GENOA. THE DATA SUGGEST THAT CRYOSURGERY IS THE TREATMENT OF CHOICE, OFFERING AS BENEFITS: EASY PROCEDURES, NO IN-BED PATIENTS, LOW OPERATIVE RISK, LIMITED LOSS OF TISSUE, LITTLE BLEEDING, MODERATE POSTOPERATIVE PAIN, THE POSSIBILITY TO RE-OPERATING AND GOOD SCAR QUALITY.
