THE PAPER PRESENTS A STUDY ON DAMAGE DEVELOPMENT IN COMPOSITE LAMINATES. DAMAGE PROPAGATION IN DRY CARBON FIBRE REINFORCED POLYIMIDES IS REPORTED FOR FATIGUE LOADING. GENERAL INFORMATION IS ALSO GIVEN ON THE FATIGUE BEHAVIOUR OF OTHER MATRIX MATERIALS AT LOW TEMPERATURES.
