Summary

The paper proposes, climatic data for the Republic of Cameroon: solar coordinates, normal exterior basic conditions in the hot and the cold seasons, together with thermophysical properties of some local constructional materials. The use of these local data in estimating the air conditioning heat load of an office in Douala, has led to a 13 to 20% reduction in the electrical consumption of the installation compared to the data available before this investigation.
