A method for calculating the thermal performance of building envelopes in tropical climates.

Type of article: Article
Summary
Buildings in Singapore must comply with a Standard which limits the air-conditioning cooling load. An improved formula has been developed, for buildings within that climate zone and for typical structures. It is based on the concept of Overall Thermal Transfer Value. The method of heat gain prediction can be used to examine options in new and retrofit systems, and ensure that the Standard is achieved. A.R.T.
