Summary
While the number of dismantling operations including decontamination stages is increasing and environmental constraints are increasingly strict, technology based on nitrogen brings a new, innovating and environmentally friendly solution, safer in a nuclear environment and last but not least, economically viable for future works. This article deals with the theoretical principle of this technology, and with the way in which it can be applied on nuclear sites and the associated balance sheet.
