Summary

BASED ON THE LAW OF THE EIGHTH POWER OF SPEED BY M. J.LIGHTHILL, THE ARTICLE HAS DERIVED A FORMULA FOR AERODYNAMIC NOISE IN A COMPRESSOR AND ANALYZED THE FACTORS WHICH CREATE NOISE. ALSO INDICATED IS THE DYNAMIC NOISE IN THE COMPRESSOR DUE MAINLY TO VALVE MOVEMENT. TO REDUCE THE DYNAMIC NOISE IT IS NECESSARY TO OBTAIN A SMALL REYNOLDS NUMBER AND THUS REDUCE THE JET TURBULENT FLOW NOISE. ANOTHER EFFICIENT WAY TO REDUCE THE NOISE IS TO DECREASE THE VALVE MACH NUMBER.
