Dependence of metal hydride refrigerator performance on reactor heat and mass transfer.

Summary

The performance of a metal-hydride refrigerator was predicted by simultaneously solving the heat and mass transfer equations in the two hydride beds. The influence on system performance of design and operating parameters like bed thickness, actual coefficient of thermal conductivity, overall coefficient of heat transfer, and the temperatures of refrigeration, heat source and heat rejection, was studied.
