Summary

In the paper, the flow chart for designing wind-forced ventilation is presented. A room ventilation through a single opening was studied using a model enclosure. The following results were obtained: 1) the concentration of contaminants was almost uniform except in the vicinity of the opening; 2) the intermediate factor should be introduced in order to predict the air flow rate through opening; 3) the ventilation efficiency was in good correlation with the R.M.S. of velocity fluctuation of approaching wind and air in the opening.
