Summary
The article analyses the problems in selecting the value of outdoor humidity ratio for design purposes. The authors hold that the best way to determine the humidity ratio for dehumidification by ventilation is based on the hours of allowable failure. They offer a set of data obtained in this way for different hours of failure in some major cities, together with an approximate calculation formula for reference in design.
