Summary

IN ORDER TO EVALUATE THE PERFORMANCES OF A HEAT RECOVERY PLANT BASED ON A RANKINE CYCLE WITH AN ORGANIC FLUID, IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY TO HAVE A VAPOUR TABLE ENABLING THE CALCULATION OF THE THERMODYNAMIC DATA OF FLUIDS. THE AUTHOR PRESENTS THE MOST CONVENTIONAL FORMULATIONS OF THEEQUATIONS OF STATE AND THE RELATIONSHIPS GIVING SATURATION PRESSURE, THE SPECIFIC VOLUME OF THE SATURATED LIQUID AND THE SPECIFIC HEAT OF THE IDEAL GAS. HE DESCRIBES THE SELECTIONS WHICH ARE GUIDED BY THE INTRINSIC QUALITY OF EQUATIONS AND THE LIMITATION OF THE NUMBER OF PROPER PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS THAT SHOULD BE AVAILABLE.
