Summary

An experimental set-up adsorption chiller was developed in order to acquire basic adsorption cycle data. In order to enhance the overall heat transfer coefficient, a newly developed adsorption bed using an aluminized-plate fin heat exchanger was adopted. After obtaining design data including overall heat transfer coefficient, a proto-type machine was produced and capacity, COP and temperature characteristics were measured. These data successfully enabled the authors to design and produce highly efficient adsorption chillers.
