DEVELOPMENT OF MAGNETIC REFRIGERATORS.

Summary

MAGNETIC REFRIGERATION THAT USES THE ADIABATIC DEMAGNETIZATION PRINCIPLE, AND HAS NO MOVING PART, IS C TO HAVE POSSIBILITY OF REALIZING A REFRIGERATOR WITH HIGH EFFICIENCY. SEVERAL KINDS OF LIQUID HELIUM TEMPERATURE MAGNETIC REFRIGERATORS INCLUDING ONE WHICH WORKED UTILIZING LEAKAGE MAGNETIC FLUX FROM A HOST SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNET HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED AND TESTED. THERE WERE A RECIPROCATING TYPE AND A ROTATING DISK TYPE MAGNETIC REFRIGERATORS WORKING BETWEEN 20 K AND LIQUID HELIUM TEMPERATURE. IN ORDER TO EXTEND THE HIGHER TEMPERATURE SIDE LIMITED BELOW 20 K, HYBRIDIZATION OF MAGNETIC MATERIALS WAS EXAMINED.
