Summary

THE ADVANTAGES OF SCREW COMPRESSORS AS COMPARED TO RECIPROCATING COMPRESSORS ARE SHOWN IN THE CAPACITY RANGES 150 TO 1,600 KILOW, UNDER STANDARDIZED CONDITIONS (LAND EQUIPMENT) AND 50 TO 150 KILOW (MARINE EQUIPMENT). A QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE EVALUATION OF THE ADVANTAGES OF SCREW COMPRESSORS IS PRESENTED. BRIEF NOMENCLATURE IS GIVEN FOR THE TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF SINGLE AND TWO-STAGE COMPRESSOR UNITS FOR COOLING COOLANTS WITH SCREW COMPRESSORS. THESE UNITS ARE PRODUCED IN THE USSR AND ENVISAGED FOR THE PERIOD UP TO 1990.
