Summary

This article presents a system consisting of an outdoor unit for cold, freezing storage and air conditioning with three compressors and some boosters for freezing storage with a compressor. It has three major features. The first one is energy saving in the freezing range and high reliability by adoption of the two-stage compression method throughout the year. The second one is energy saving during the cooling season based on optimum evaporating temperature control by adoption of a compressor that can be changed over to air conditioning or chilling operation. The third one is energy saving during the heating season by utilizing the heat rejected from chilling and freezing operation for heating the area.
