Developments in multi-stage evaporative cooling.
Author(s) : CLAASSEN N.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The study was conducted to provide a model for evaluating the use of evaporative cooling in conjunction with refrigerated cooling - a new idea which stemmed from recent developments in the energy management of buildings. It further highlights the possibilities of utilising the dry-cooling of the 2-stage evaporative cooling systems to obtain better performances. It could also solve under-capacity refrigerated building problems by reducing cooling capacities by up to 30% when used in existing refrigerated cooling systems.
