Summary

Evaporative cooling occurs through simple humidification of the air in contact with water. The author reviews direct evaporative air-conditioners, flat-plate type and rotative type humidification air-conditioners, spray-type and indirect evaporative air- conditioners. He then presents a method for evaluating the performances of a direct air-conditioner and concludes with a description of the use of these air-conditioners.
