Summary

Noise reduction and energy savings have been realized by introducing an inverter control in the compressors of domestic electric refrigerators. The resulting efficiency optimizes the refrigerator power under normal and overload conditions. A much higher efficiency was achieved by adopting a brushless DC motor for the compressor. The newly developed W-refrigerator system is also described. This new technique improves the cooling system by using separate evaporators to cool separately the freezer and refrigeration chambers.
