Summary

DESCRIBES THE DEVELOPMENT OF A DYNAMIC SECOND ORDER MODEL FOR CALCULATING THE MOISTURE CONTENT OF INDOOR AIR. STATES THE MODEL IS VALID FOR RELATIVE HUMIDITIES BETWEEN 20 AND 80%. THE STORAGE OF MOISTURE IN THE ROOM AIR AND IN HYGROSCOPIC MATERIALS EXERTS A DAMPING AND DELAYING EFFECT ON VARIATIONS IN ROOM AIR HUMIDITY. SHOWS THAT WHILE THE HUMIDITY ALTERS PERIODICALLY WITH A PERIOD INTERVAL OF 12 HOURS OR MORE, THE MOISTURESTORAGE IN HYGROSCOPIC MATERIALS IN THE ROOM CAN BE VERY CONSIDERABLE. PROVIDES CONCLUSIONS CONCERNING ROOM AIR HUMIDITY. (INT. BUILD. SERV. ABSTR., GB., 23, N 6, 1988, 30, 88-01928.
