DYNAMIC MODELLING OF COMBINED THERMAL AND MOISTURE TRANSPORT IN BUILDINGS: EFFECTS ON COOLING LOADS AND SPACE CONDITIONS.

Summary

MOISTURE ABSORPTION AND DESORPTION CORRELATIONS ARE INCORPORATED AS A SUBPROGRAM OF THERMAL ANALYSIS RESEARCH. MECHANICAL SYSTEM PERFORMANCE AND BUILDING ZONE CONDITIONS ARE THEN EVALUATED ON AN HOURLY BASIS. ANALYSIS OF RESIDENTIAL COOLING LOADS IN HUMID CLIMATES SHOWS THAT MOISTURE ABSORPTION AND DESORPTION CAN HAVE A SIGNIFICANT EFFECT ONAIR CONDITIONING LOADS AND ON INDOOR RELATIVE HUMIDITIES.
