Early pulse tube refrigerator developments.
Author(s) : LONGSWORTH R. C.
Summary
The paper discusses some of the unpublished research work done on experimental valved pulse tubes that were built and tested at Syracuse University by W.E. Gifford and by the author in the mid 1960's. These included multi-tube, two-stage, and four-stage designs. The four-stage unit had a novel valve design and had a no load temperature of about 35 K.
