Eating up the noise: an electronic solution to noise reduction in air conditioning ducts.
Type of article: Article
Summary
NoiseEater has been recently introduced to the UK as an off-the-shelf package to reduce duct noise. When used to replace a typical absorptive silencer in an existing HVAC duct, the NoiseEater duct silencer provides greater low frequency attenuation and also reduces the energy used by the HVAC system. Reduction of the absorptive acoustic fill protrusion from the duct interior increases the flow cross-section, reduces the pressure drop through the duct, and increases the aerodynamic efficiency of the HVAC system.
