Economic reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through enhanced dehumidifier timber drying.

Summary

In the paper, the performance of a range of timber drying kilns including an enhanced heat pump dehumidifier kiln, and coal and gas fired conventional heat-and-vent kilns is compared on the basis of site economics, site energy efficiency, primary energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions. Good results are obtained and commented. Future developments and research trends are identified.
