Summary

THE PRODUCTION OF PARFAITE WAS NOT INFLUENCED SIGNIFICANTLY BY LIFTING RUNNER PLANTS FROM MARCH 1 TO MAY 1 FORTNIGHTLY AND PLANTING THEM WITHOUT COLD STORAGE AFTER 15 OR 30 DAYS' STORAGE AT 273 K (0 DEG C). TIOBELLE LIFTED AT EITHER OF THE DATES IN MARCH, HAD A SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER PRODUCTION THAN THE PLANTS LIFTED IN APRIL ; THE YIELD OF THE PLANTS LIFTED ON APRIL 1 WAS ALSO SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER THAN THOSE OF MAY. THE PRODUCTION OF SELEKTA DECREASED SIGNIFICANTLY THE LATER THE RUNNERS WERE PLANTED. STORAGE OF RUNNER PLANTS FOR 15 DAYS AT 273 K DID NOT INFLUENCE THE PRODUCTION OF SELEKTA SIGNIFICANTLY, BUT DID INCREASE THE YIELD OF TIOBELLE SIGNIFICANTLY. STORAGE OF PLANTS FOR 30 DAYS REDUCED PRODUCTION OF EACH LIFTING DATE OF THE LATTER TWO CULTIVARS SIGNIFICANTLY.
