Effect of pulsations in flow on the cooling effectiveness of an impinging jet.

Author(s) : SHERIFF H. S., ZUMBRUNNEN D. A.

Type of article: Article

Summary

The paper analyzes the heat transfer phenomena existing between a water jet and a surface plane. The characteristics of the jet vary as a function of time, in either a linear or a sinusoidal manner. The experimental apparatus is described and the results obtained presented and analyzed. Possible applications for the cooling of very small microelectronic elements or the cooling of turbine fins.
