Summary

BACCARA AND SONIA ROSES WERE HARVESTED AT THE STAGE OF CLOSED BUDS AND STORED 3 TO 6 DAYS IN WATER BETWEEN 274 AND 283 K (1 AND 10 DEG C). THE LIFETIME IN VASES AT 293 K (20 DEG C) WAS DETERMINED TOO. LIFETIME IN VASES AT THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE DECREASES WHEN STORAGE TEMPERATURE AND TIME INCREASE. THE OPTIMUM TEMPERATURE IS 274 K AND THE MAXIMUM TIME 3 DAYS. LIFETIME IN VASES IS LARGER BY TWO DAYS FOR SONIA THAN FOR BACCARA.
