Summary

A quasi two-stage compression heat pump system coupled with ejector was designed to improve the performance and widen the range of the operation conditions of heat pumps. An experiment for the prototype of the heat pump system coupled with ejector was conducted at a condensation temperature at 45°C and evaporation temperatures from -8 to -25°C. The effects of the ejectors on the performance of the heat pump were analysed. The results show that the heat pump coupled with the ejector with optimized construction has a higher COP in a wide range of operation conditions and can achieve excellent performances while the ejecting coefficient is 0.1.
