Summary
A method of enhancing ammonia bubble absorption by vapour vortex has been proposed and the visualized experiment on the absorption dynamic characteristics was conducted with a high speed camera. The results show that the vapour vortex can reduce the maximum bubble volume and have a slight influence on the bubble generative frequency and the bubble maximum height. These findings confirm that the vapour vortex enhances the heat and mass transfer significantly either during the life cycle of a single bubble or the overall process. The enhancement factor is 1.1-1.25.
