Summary

ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS ARE ALREADY BEING USED EXTENSIVELY TO CONTROL AND MONITOR REFRIGERATING AND AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT. THE TIME-TESTED MECHANICAL EXPANSION VALVE IS NOW BEING REDESIGNED FOR ELECTRONIC CONTROL. ELECTRICAL EXPANSION VALVES ARE BEING DEVELOPED, SUCH AS MOTORIZED AND ELECTRO-MAGNET VALVES, AND THEY ARE NOW BEING COMBINED WITH ELECTRONIC CONTROL TO INCREASE SYSTEM OPERATING EFFICIENCY AND ENHANCE AUTOMATION. THE PAPER DESCRIBES AND ILLUSTRATES VARIOUS COMBINATIONS OF ELECTRONIC CONTROLS FOR REFRIGERANT FEED DEVICES.
