Summary

CALCULATING THE ENERGY UPTAKE OF ALL THE REFRIGERATORS IN USE IN HOUSEHOLDS A REDUCTION OF ONLY 1-2 W WOULD AMOUNT TO SEVERAL HUNDREDS OF MWH PER YEAR. THIS IS AN AIM EASILY ACHIEVED WHEN OPERATING CONDITIONS OF HOUSEHOLD REFRIGERATORS ARE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT. A MUCH MORE SIGNIFICANT CONSTANT SAVING MAY BE ACHIEVED BY IMPROVING THE TECHNICAL PARAMETERS OF REFRIGERATING COMPRESSORS. AN IMPORTANT CONDITION OF THIS IS A GOOD COOPERATION BETWEEN THE COMPRESSOR AND THE OTHER ELEMENTS OF THE REFRIGERATOR OR ON A WIDER RANGE BETWEEN THE MANUFACTURER OF COMPRESSORS AND THE CABINET.
