Summary

The book includes the papers presented during a course organized in Tarragona, Spain, from March 29 to April 1, 1993, by the University Rovira i Virgili, in co-operation with the Catalan Institute of Energy and CIEMAT (Research Centre on energy, the environment and technology) of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism. The course is divided into several chapters: absorption cycles; performances of simple absorption cycles; thermodynamic principles of mixtures: properties, diagrams; technology of advanced absorption cycles; absorption systems for cooling and heating; seawater desalination; economical aspects of absorption.
