Summary

Study of an original, trithermal, solid-gas sorption refrigeration system using the direct recovery of exhaust gas from heat engines. The faisability studies related to the development of an elementary sorber (new concept) deal with: a) the selection of the solid-gas pair; b) thermodynamic and mass transfer aspects; c) non-steady heat transfer; d) the sorber geometry and mechanical constraints; e) the air circulation aspect; f) energy balance and characteristic times of the phases. An experimental validation (concept, models) is carried out by simulation of exhaust gases with an air heater-fan unit. The sorber behaviour is identified.
