Energy management in central HVAC plants using neural networks.

Summary

The paper demonstrates how neural networks can be used to optimize energy consumption in a commercial-scale HVAC system. Rather than using computer simulations, the building energy data are generated using an HVAC laboratory. It is hoped that by using information from an actual system, the potential uses and limitations of system-wide optimization techniques will be realized.
