Improved utilization of building management and control systems.
Author(s) : BROMLEY K., et al.
Summary
States that although modern control and energy management systems offer great potential to both improve individual comfort and reduce energy consumption, many systems do neither. To help identify why this is, the UK Building Research Establishment is studying the relationships between building design, building management, control systems, occupant satisfaction and energy performance. Initial results suggest that avoidable waste occurs because most designs for control systems do not pay sufficient attention to how buildings will be used by their occupants.
