THE SEVERE ENERGY SITUATION AND COMPETITION ASPECTS ASKED FOR A NEW ENERGY SAVING AIR CONDITIONER. A NEW AIR CONDITIONER USING INSIDE GLYCOL UNIT FOR DIRECT COOLING IN WINTER AND TRANSITIONAL PERIODS WITH LOW OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURES, WAS DEVELOPED. A PRACTICAL CALCULATION OF SAVINGS DURING OPERATION IS SHOWN. IT IS BASED ON THEORETICAL SIMULATION OF THE UNIT PRIMARY TESTED IN A WIDE FIELD OF OPERATION LABORATORIES. SEVERAL MODES OF OPERATIONS DEPENDING ON OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE AND THEIR SAVING EFFECTS ARE SHOWN. THE EFFECT OF CORRECT DIMENSIONING OF THE SYSTEM ON THE OPERATION COSTS IS POINTED OUT.
