BY MEANS OF COMPUTER SIMULATION THE AUTHORS ESTABLISHED THAT, FOR AIR CONDITIONING A TYPICAL ROOM UNDER CLIMATIC CONDITIONS IN SOFIA, COOLING BY A REFRIGERATING MACHINE ASSOCIATED WITH AN INDIRECT EVAPORATIVE COOLING SYSTEM RESULTS IN 40% ENERGY SAVINGS AS COMPARED TO COOLINGBY ONLY A REFRIGERATING MACHIN THE ALTERNATIVE WITH ONLY INDIRECT EVAPORATION COOLING DOES NOT LOWER THE TEMPERATURE BELOW 300 K (27 DEG C).
