Summary

In optimizing the energy management of buildings, the performance of management systems has to be evaluated and compared. The emulation method is used, i.e. the system is tested in an environment which is simulated in real time. For the simulation, static models are used, and for better accuracy and notably for controls, dynamic models are used. Examples of simulation exercises are given, as well as emulation exercises.
