Evolution of temperatures and shuttle effect at the regenerator outlets of an alpha Stirling machine: dynamic model and experimental work.

Summary

Temperature variations are analysed at both ends of the regenerator of a two-piston alpha-type Stirling machine. A model based on electric analogy describes the evolution of pressure and gas flow, and a thermoacoustic approach enables temperature changes at the regenerator outlet to be predicted. The phase shift between pressure and flow is highlighted. The experiment makes it possible to validate temperature measurements with both models.
