Type of article: Article

Summary

THE AUTHOR CHARACTERIZES THE EXERGY CONCEPT ACCORDING TO THE SECOND THERMODYNAMIC LAW AND DEFINES THE EXERGETIC EFFICIENCY AS A RATIO OF USEFUL EFFECT OF THE REFRIGERATION MACHINE CYCLE TO THE INPUT. BASING ON THIS PRINCIPLE, AN ANALYSIS OF A VAPOUR COMPRESSION REFRIGERATING SYSTEM WITH A HERMETIC REFRIGERANT COMPRESSOR IS PRESENTED. THE ANALYSIS WAS PERFORMED ON THE BASIS OF MEASUREMENTS ON A TEST STATION WHICH IS DESCRIBED IN SOME DETAIL. POSSIBILITIES OF EXERGY LOSS OPTIMISATION ARE SUGGESTED.
