Experimental characterization of a novel adsorber heat exchanger for desiccant cooling applications.

Author(s) : CLAUSSE M., PÉRIGAUD Y., MEUNIER F., et al.

Summary

This article deals with a new system for desiccant cooling. This system is made of two heat exchangers filled with adsorbent material. These exchangers work alternatively, one drying fresh air while the other one is regenerated. The aim is to propose an alternative to desiccant wheels generally used in desiccant cooling. Indeed, because of their cost, desiccant wheels use limit the possibilities of installing such systems for small residential air conditioning. First results are presented as well as some leads for further development.
