EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF THE FLOW IN REED VALVE GAPS.

Summary

PRESSURE DISTRIBUTIONS IN THE GAP OF A MODEL OF A RECTANGULAR REED VALVE ARE GIVEN FOR VARIOUS GAP HEIGHTS. THE REED IS MODELLED BY A RIGID PLATE FASTENED IN VARIOUS POSITION IN RESPECT TO THE VALVE PORT. AERODYNAMIC FORCE DISTRIBUTIONS AND COEFFICIENTS ARE CALCULATED. THE MEASURED PRESSURE DISTRIBUTIONS ARE COMPARED WITH THEORETICAL ONES OBTAINED FOR A SIMPLIFIED MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF THE FLOW IN THE GAP.
