Experimental study on a novel two-stage desiccant cooling system.

Author(s) : GE T. S., LI Y., WANG R. Z., et al.

Summary

An experimental investigation has been carried out on a novel two-stage desiccant cooling system. Experiments were performed using a newly developed silica gel-haloid composite desiccant. The objective of the experiment is to evaluate the system performance under typical ARI summer condition with the variation of some important parameters. The experimental results indicated that the system can provide qualified supply air when regeneration temperature is in the range of 60 to 90°C. However, to achieve a tradeoff between the system energy performance and the supply air condition, regeneration temperature between 65 and 80°C is more reasonable for the system operation.
