Summary
Air conditioning systems are usually operated under part load conditions, and segmented handling air-conditioning system has significant advantages of realizing energy-saving operation under part load conditions. Chillers in serial configuration was carried out on a test bed of segmented handling air-conditioning system, and the performance of system in different load conditions were studied. Experiment results show that: the maximum load that segmented handling air-conditioning system can handle is only 81.5% compared with conventional systems when the design load is the same. When the load reduces from 81.5% to 50%, the chillers of the system average COP increases from 3.13 to 4.16, which indicates that segmented handling air conditioning system can create a big energy saving potential under part load conditions.
