THE PROPOSED INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ON FAN TESTING IS NOT YET COMPLETE AND SOME CURRENT NATIONAL STANDARDS CAN GIVE HIGHER RATINGS. THE LATEST BRITISH STANDARD 848 INCORPORATES THE ISO RECOMMENDATIONS AND SHOULD BE USED FOR COMPARATIVE TESTING FOR RATING. DUCT RESISTANCE TABLES ASSUME SYMMETRICAL VELOCITIES, WHICH ARE NOT FOUND IN PRACTICE, SO CALCULATED DUCT PRESSURE LOSSES ARE USUALLY TOO LOW. A.R.T.
