Summary

With two million square meters air-conditioned at the end of 2003, gas air conditioning is now part of the technical environment of air-conditioning professional stakeholders. 10 % of air-conditioning installations run on gas, with equipment based on the absorption principle. Professionals users need to adapt this technology in order to completely control the technical aspects, referring to the heating specialists' expertise, and regulations. A technology comparable to gas air conditioning has also proved reliable abroad: heat pumps with a gas engine, offering energy performances that impress any thermodynamics specialist. Articles in this file: gas air conditioning strengthens its position; a flame to produce cold; rules governing the setting up of absorption machines; machines still little-known in France; wine making: temperature control with natural gas; Intersport is gas-cooled; expected, and sometimes, unexpected developments.
