Summary

Scroll technology appeared ten years ago in the air-conditioning field. Since then, it is still as successful and today the annual worldwide production of Copeland has exceeded 10 million units, thus confirming the international influence of this technology. Contrary to reciprocating compressors where compression rates remain relatively steady due to the geometry inherent in reciprocating systems and systems with connecting rods, scroll technology makes it possible to achieve the best compromise between the effectiveness of the "scroll-set" and the optimal output of the electric motor.
