FINANCIAL ANALYSIS OF HEAT PUMP SYSTEMS.

Author(s) : GLUCKMAN R.

Type of article: Article

Summary

THE AUTHOR PRESENTS A RIGOROUS METHOD FOR HEAT PUMP FEASIBILITY AND FINANCIAL ANALYSIS. THE CONCEPT OF HEATING TEMPERATURE RANGE (HTR) IS INTRODUCED. THIS IS ONE OF THE CRITERIA FOR FINDING A POTENTIALLY GOOD HEAT PUMP APPLICATION. A LARGE HTR LEADS TO LOW HEAT PUMP RUNNING COSTS. THE AUTHOR CONCLUDES THAT THE USE OF COMPUTER TECHNIQUES FOR RUNNING COST CALCULATIONS IS INVALUABLE. USEFUL FURTHER WORK COULD BE DONE ON CORRELATION TECHNIQUES FOR CAPITAL COST ASSESSMENT. FURTHER DATA ON ENGINE DRIVEN SYSTEMS ARE ALSO REQUIRED. E.W.S.
