IIR document
Fire risks and fire prevention in cold stores.
Author(s) : PERSSON P., ARVIDSSON O., ÖDEEN K.
Type of article: Article, IJR article
Summary
The factors governing damage in cold store fires are examined. Since the value of the contents is normally several times that of the building, priority should be given to saving the contents. Cold store designs with this aim are reviewed, together with the shortcomings of the insurance provision. Suggestions are made for constructive action by the IIR to reduce fire losses.
