Summary
Reports that free cooling plants have been installed in Denmark since 1983. States the system is designed on the basis of a conventional refrigeration plant with a water cooling circuit as well as a water-filled condenser circuit protected against freezing. The two circuits are connected by pipes with integral valves. By choosing a change-over temperature of 9 deg C outdoor temperature cooling can be produced without the use of refrigeration machines for approximately 4800 hours per year.
