Summary

Members of the French AFCE (Alliance Froid Climatisation Environnement [Refrigeration, air-conditioning and environmental Alliance) have decided to propose a voluntary program to reduce the greenhouse effect. Their aim is to cut direct emissions to the atmosphere due to leakage from the equipment, by selecting low GWP refrigerants, by raising the quality of the equipment, assembling and maintenance, and to reduce indirect emissions, due to high energy consumption by refrigerating plants. A certification system must be created for basic equipment, installations and the personnel.
